ABOUT THE FARMERS:

Fiery Ginger Farms

Fiery Ginger Farms is one of the two farming enterprises that have begun farming on The Cannery’s Urban Farm. Hope Sippola and Shayne Zurilgen are both 2015 graduates of the California Farm Academy and recently moved into full time farming together.

The company’s mission is to grow the highest quality food through organic practices and help develop community connections wherever they farm. Hope & Shayne believe that urban farms are powerful agents of change for the environment, the food system and the cities they service. 

They have started marketing subscriptions to customers who can purchase produce boxes. Subscribers can begin picking up weekly produce boxes with fresh vegetables, and optional farm fresh eggs starting in June at The Barn. Click Here to Learn More About the Produce Boxes.

FUN FACT: Did you know Fiery Ginger Farms will donate $5 of every box of produce directly back to a Davis joint unified school district school garden program?

Gomez Farm:

Gomez Farm is the other farming enterprise that has begun farming on The Cannery’s Urban Farm, growing over 30 varieties of organically and locally grown vegetables and fruit. 

The company’s mission is to promote healthy living for communities, respect the environment and grow quality food by farming fresh produce, at a local level with mindful practices.

They have started marketing subscriptions to customers who can purchase produce boxes. Subscribers can sign up to receive 26 deliveries or 13 deliveries starting May 5th – November 17th.  For more information or to sign up for, contact AJ Gomez at (650) 430-5270 or email ajgomez@mail.ru
